Presenter: So, the Surrey Business Person of the Year, and we love doing this award. Four finalists, four strong finalists because we just couldn’t whittle it down to three. Four unconventional leaders, four smashing individuals. Really fantastic individuals. One winner. The Surrey Business Person of the Year for 2007/2008 is Andrew Reynolds.
Andrew Reynolds: I’m absolutely gob-smacked to get this award, mainly because, until a few weeks ago, I didn’t know I’d been put, actually entered for this. Some people who conspired behind my back to put this together and to actually nominate me, so for that, I’d like to thank Simon and Shaa on the table here. I’d particularly like to thank all of the people who took part in that, that nomination process, though. I’d just like to thank my friends from Great Ormond Street Children’s Hospital, from the Prince’s Trust, the Make Your Mark With A Tenner campaign, from the ladies on my table from Disability Initiative in Camberley.
Andrew Reynolds: From the Make A Wish Foundation who are celebrating their twenty first year of granting wishes. From Surrey Dial A Ride and from, again, the ladies on the tables there, from Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
I’ve got this, this belief that, as business people, it’s up to us not just to, sort of, judge our effectiveness by the profits we make, but by the way that we use those profits and reinvest them into the community in which we live and work. If you have, two minutes when, when we finish this thing today, I would love you to meet some of those guys at this table because they need the help of Surrey business people. But, on behalf of all those people, thank you very much indeed.
